Martin B. Fortier, M.D. was born in Chicago and raised in Roselle, Illinois. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado. Upon completing medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Fortier received residency training at the University of Chicago, Christ Medical Center, and the Cook County Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Fortier is board certified by the American College of Emergency Physicians. In addition to the practice of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Fortier has extensive experience in the practice of Emergency Medicine; Dr. Fortier has experience in the practice of Occupational and Sports Medicine. Dr. Fortier has practice Emergency and Occupational Medicine in the Chicago land area for the past 20 years. His goal as a member of the Spring Grove Physical Medicine & Rehab team is to assist in the recovery and rehabilitation of injuries whether they be trauma, job, or sports relate. Additional professional memberships include The American Medical Association, Illinois, College of Emergency Physicians, and the Chicago Medical Society.

Dr. Ralph DeStephano attended the University of Dayton where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology. From there, Dr. DeStephano did his post graduated studies at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL and completed his internship at the Chicago clinic in downtown Chicago. Dr. DeStephano believes nutrition and exercise play an important role in a person’s health. He believes that it is not what a patient does in his office that determines whether the patient gets better, rather if he can educate them and teach them how to take care of themselves outside the office, it will greatly improve their chances of living a healthier life. Dr. DeStephano firmly believes that a multi-specialty approach, nutrition, and patient participation in active therapeutic exercise offers optimum benefits to people with pain disorders

Dr. Mikael Johnson was born and raised in the Spring Grove area. He attended Northern Illinois University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Johnson then continued with his post graduate academic career at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington , MN . Dr. Johnson is a member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society and also the American Chiropractic Association. In addition to his professional memberships he is also an active member in the Lion's Club.

 

Dr. Johnson believes in a dual approach for optimal patient care. That belief being that by creating proper motion of the spinal segments along with balancing and strengthening the muscles that support the spine allows for greater stability and longer lasting results with chiropractic care. Dr. Johnson has seen incredible results with all age groups ranging from young children to the elderly.

  Kyle Beres, P.T . was born in Aurora , IL and raised in Flossmoor , IL .  She always knew a career in medicine was in her future.  In high school she worked as an assistant for a PE class for students with special needs working side by side with physical therapists and occupational therapists.  She attended Marquette University where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and her Masters of Physical Therapy.  During the course of her education at Marquette , she completed internships at a hospital inpatient facility, an outpatient clinic, a home health birth to three program, and an inpatient rehabilitation facility.  After graduation, she worked for a hospital based outpatient facility where she has worked with a wide variety of patient populations, including pediatrics, neurology, orthopedics, and geriatrics.  Along with the outpatient work she also worked in the hospital setting in acute variety of continuing education courses, including pediatric, aquatic, and exercise specialization.

 Jenny Robbins, P.T. was born in Mason City , IA and moved to Wildwood, IL when she was 8 years old.  In 1996 she graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee , IL .  In 2001 Jenny received her Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Clarke College in Dubuque , IA.  She has experience working in various settings including acute care in the hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, aquatic rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation.  She frequently works with a variety of patient demographics including neurological and orthopedic, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.  Her experience includes working with patients post surgical from day 1 in the hospital and continuing with them throughout their extended rehab in the outpatient setting.

Alicia Berlin, NCTMB attended the Northern Praire School of Massage and Bodywork. She is skilled with many different massage techniques including: Deep tissue, Swedish, Myofascial release, Lymphatic, Reiki I II III, Reflexology, Hot rock massage, Trigger point therapy, and Prenatal and Postnatal massage. She also performs special body treatments including: salt glows, herbal wraps, and mud wraps. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and living a healthy and happy life. When asked what makes her different from others in her field she says that it's her nurturing intuitive touch which provides a comforting and personalized treatment for each individual.

 

John Hay, C.M.T. received his educational training from the First Institute. He has completed over 720 hours in clinical work. John is certified the Therapeutic Stretching Technique originating in Chiang Mai Thailand. This technique achieves myoskeletal alignment through muscle O.I.A. and other modalities. John has studied extensively with Naprapathy with Dr. Smith and Margiotta which has given him a better understanding of soft tissue dysfunction and spinal pathology. John believes that whether it’s repairing homeostasis or alleviating pain, balance is the foundation of all movement.
